The Best Health Benefits For People With Low Income

Supplemental health insurance has become popular nowadays. People prefer to have health insurance policies so that they can meet the exorbitant cost of medical treatments. Cost of treatment of killer diseases like cancer can ruin a person financially.

Affordable health insurance policies help people to meet the costs to a very great extent. But in cases of unexpected accidents, the insurance scheme of the policy holder may not cover all the expenses. There are expenses of transportation, lost income from not going to work, expenses of domestic help which may not be covered and can be a drain on the pocket.

Affordable supplements help to cover the medical expenses not covered by the basic insurance scheme. Supplements enhance the hospital and the doctor or physician coverage. But all the insurance companies have their own network of hospitals and doctors, meaning, the claim will be valid only if the customer visits any doctor or hospital within the network. This is a standard practice for affordable healthcare and affordable supplements.

It is better to check the list of designated hospitals and physicians in this respect. Premiums vary according to the supplement plan. But generally, if the customer is of advanced age then the premium is higher. Broadly speaking the important aspects one must look into while choosing an affordable supplement coverage (this is generic, individual needs may vary):

Suitability of the supplement plan

Premium payable

Time span of the coverage

Medical and non medical benefits covered by the supplement plan

Network of doctors, pharmacies, hospitals or nursing homes covered by the insurance provider

Medical affordable supplement insurance is available for children, individuals or adults with family. The insurance provider needs some basic information before they can further process an application for affordable supplements.

Gender, date of birth, spouse’s date of birth, interested affordable supplement plan types, whether the would-be customer has high blood pressure or does he or she use tobacco, any disability, any current insurance coverage, if so, then the name of the company, when would the customer like to start the supplement coverage. These are some of the preliminary questions that may be asked. Only after processing these, the company will get into the details.

An affordable supplement plan helps a beneficiary in times of need, indeed, that is the very reason why medical supplement policies have come into being along with the basic healthcare insurance.

No. I hate it. That & this whole turn towards socialism that started with FDRs Social Security, grew like weeds with LBJ's medicare & now this.

It's anti-American. Let us (make us) stand on our own feet.

Yes, she can claim the premiums, but yes she'd have to meet the 7.5% of income rule. If ss is her only income, she doesn't owe any tax, so there would be no point in itemizing.

Bull. I had this plan and most of the time you are only saving about 10% or less.

Can you quote a source or link for this, please? Otherwise, it's just you saying it…

And, if I'm not mistaken, wasn't taxing Health Benefits a John McCain campaign platform????

Since you don't have insurance through your employer and don't qualify for state aid I would recommend getting a medical discount plan. It will cost you $59.95 a month for your entire family for medical, dental, vision, prescription, and chiropractic services.
Visit the web site below and make sure to click on Locate a Provider to make sure that there are doctors in your area.
If you have any questions then click on Contact Us and I will call you back.

I sell individual health insurance in the state of Michigan, the only product that takes serious pre-existing conditions is Blue Cross. It does however, have a 6 month wait on pre-existing conditions. That's the best that we have in Michigan.

If she doesn't qualify for Medicaid, then this might be an alternative.

The 2 Blue Cross products are Value Blue — A hospital only plan with a RX discount card at $171/month.

Individual Care Blue offers doctors visits, 50/50 drug card, $500 in free wellness checkups, and ZERO deductible. At her age this runs around $500/month. The only advantage here is that if she is on RX she can use the drug card immediately without the 6 month wait.

Yes, I think it will or it will be more monies that the government will have to pay out to insure poor people. We may see some cost savings if they use the Doctors' office instead of the Emergency room. The greed has gone unchecked and will continue without the Public option.

You might find this article interesting…here is an excerpt:

This statistic describes the percentage of dollars that a health insurance company takes in from its premiums that it uses to actually pay for medical services. For example, back in the 1990s – when the health care insurance industry was quite profitable – the figure was generally in the mid-90s. In other words, about 95% of all dollars collected in premiums were used to pay for medical services. Since then, structural changes in the health insurance industry have led it to focus more on profits – as a Wall Street mentality took hold. Since the 1990s, the medical loss ratio has dropped significantly. Today it is in the mid 70s to low 80s – meaning $20 to $30 of every $100 paid in insurance premiums is not used to provide the services paid for. These profits – and the quest to increase such profits – has led to the health insurance industry becoming more like a Wall Street financial firm

I htikn the U.S. government cares about any and all illegal immigrants. As demostrates the the failure to pass the last immigration bill due to the amnesty clause.

We will never again reward those who break our laws with amnesty.
